Live Tutoring
The tutoring sessions are Socratic dialogs between the tutor and the student - the emphasis is on teaching by asking instead of by telling. The tutors ask a lot of questions, each designed to diagnose what a student knows and does not know and to gently nudge the student towards greater understanding of the topic under discussion.

Through Socratic dialogs, the tutors get a very good feel for what a student is ready to learn. By understanding the right topics at the most appropriate time we can ensure that the students are adequately ready to handle and gain a deep understanding of topics.

Under no circumstances do the tutors provide "solutions" or "answers" to a problem - the focus is always on helping and guiding the student towards discovering the solution. This not only enhances learning and understanding, it also greatly enhances the confidence and self-esteem of a student. The sense of accomplishment and pride a student feels from this process helps them reach for higher goals and aspirations.

Support is available from introductory through IB/AP levels. In most instances support is also tied to specific curriculum and textbooks.

Small Group Tutoring
The company utilizes individual competency profiles to group students who may have similar needs - the students in a group may be in the same place in a curriculum or be ready to learn the same topic. This process improves effectiveness and offers an economical solution.

Even when students are from different states (where state academic standards may be different), our alignment system can determine students with similar needs. The same academic standard (i.e. the ability to distinguish between an area and perimeter of a rectangle) may be introduced at the 4th grade level in one state and at the 5th grade level in a different state. Through our patent-pending individual academic competency determination system, we can group students interested in learning this topic together even if they are from different grade levels and are from different states.

Archives
A student will be able to access the archives of prior tutoring sessions and search through them by date and subjects. The aim is to let students review these sessions in the future.
